The season has kicked in for the Darryl Phillips Motor Company Seniors with 2 friendly games to date against Timaru and McKenzie Country. Timaru Celtic was played in Timaru with them losing narrowly by 1 try. The next game was against McKenzie Country at Celtic with a win to Celtic 19-12 to retain the Mick Casey Memorial Trophy.
The game was played in hot conditions and also good spirits. New
combinations were tried throughout the game and some good long range
tries were scored. They have 1 more pre-season game against Prebbleton
on Friday 26 March at Celtic which is followed by the season opener
against Collegiate on Thursday night 1st April at Celtic, 7:30pm.

The Widespan Sheds Senior B’s also had their 1st game in the weekend
with McKenzie Country and had a 19-10 loss. With the team including a
number of last years Colts players it is looking like 2010 will be a
good season for the b team. The senior b competition starts Easter
weekend against Methven followed with the bye. Anyone interested in

The skills day held on Sunday before the McKenzie games was a great
success with a large number of players turning up. All the children
thoroughly enjoyed and the bbq and drinks provided after the session
were a well earned treat. Many thanks go out to Warren McKenzie and
Paddy Strange for helping set this up. The club is looking at making
these a regular thing during the season so keep a lookout for regular
updates.
JAB 7-a-side is on Saturday 17 April at Allenton and then Pompellier
Tournament on Sunday 18 April in Timaru. The season will kick of on 24
April.

After the AGM the committee was formed with Paul Summerfield as
president, Kevin Donaldson vice-president, Secretary Stefan Brook,
Treasurer Greg Wall ( congrats on the engagement ), Club Captain Gary
Casey, JAB Club Captain Paddy Strange. Also on the committee Mark
O’Grady, Pete Restieaux, Richie McCrea, Warren McKenzie, Tom Jones,
Mike Hanham, Kevin Hurley, Alan Harvey, Phil Prendergast, Shane
Enright, Alan Greive, Rob Harnett.
