What a cacophony as near on 100 children converged at the Clubrooms for our J.A.B Quiz night on Friday. The kids were placed at tables with mixed grades, teams names where chosen and our Quizmaster Paddy Strange (in questionable attire, whose jacket was that exactly??) took to the mic.

The various topics were received well and the knowledge of some of the younger ones was quite remarkable. By the break there was only several points between the top 6 teams. Although we were aware that some assistance had been provided via mobile phones and the mate at the table closest!

One lucky contestant sitting in the right place at the right time won our Spot Prize – a family pass to the Antarctic Centre valued at $145.00… have fun :-)

We were treated to a performance from some of our J.A.B Samoan boys at the interval, met with rapturous applause from the audience. They did themselves and the club proud.

The round on Gross Stuff caused a few giggles and by round 6 the “Who am I?” question had been carefully thought out and it was a race for the first team to deliver the correct answer to the markers. The penny dropped for many when silver and bronze medals were mentioned that it was Ashburton's very own Hayden Roulston.

Thank you to all our parents and caregivers for bringing your children along, the wonderful people behind the bar, helpers on the night and please support the following businesses who gave so generously that every child went home with a prize regardless of results.
