2010 is here so that means the rugby season is not far away! Pre season training has started for open grade teams on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30. They are coached by Dave McCrea this year so any new players or for those ones that cant make it, get in touch with Dave on 0274753002. Two warm-up games are to follow against Timaru Celtic on 7 March in Timaru and McKenzie Country 14 March for the Mick Casey Memorial Trophy, to be played at home.
The senior competition will start Easter weekend.

The Widespan Sheds Senior B’s will again be coached by Geoff Rowe, Pete Gowans and Chicken. They will get together THURSDAY 18 February, 6:30 at Celtic. They have a pre-season game against McKenzie Country on Sunday 14 March so get along to practice.
Paul Hurley once again will take the Colts with training to start soon. Details to follow at a latter date.
JAB registration day is FRIDAY 19 FEBRUARY; 5pm at the clubrooms for grades U8 through to U16’s. Every child will receive a free Leslie Rugby ball and mouth guard. JAB’s first get together will be a skills/open day on Sunday 14 March at 11:30am with drills, games and a bbq. Senior members will be along to help and following that will be the senior and senior b’s playing McKenzie Country. The JAB section has been one of the strongest in the district for a number of years now and this is largely due to the effort from Paddy Strange and Sandra Hurley. So if you want your children to be part of a strong family orientated club get along to registration day. If you’re unable to attend contact Paddy Strange on 3080023.

After the AGM the committee was formed with Paul Summerfield as president, Kevin Donaldson vice-president, Secretary Stefan Brook, Treasurer Greg Wall ( congrats on the engagement ), Club Captain Gary Casey, JAB Club Captain Paddy Strange. Also on the committee Mark O’Grady, Pete Restieaux, Richie McCrea, Warren McKenzie, Tom Jones, Mike Hanham, Kevin Hurley, Alan Harvey, Phil Prendergast, Shane Enright, Alan Greive, Rob Harnett.
